In ISM this week, I completed my ninth research assessment. I am getting close to beginning my original work, so I decided to conduct my research assessment over live streamed concerts. I read an article titled “Everything You Need to Know About Live Streaming Concerts,” which was written for Eventbrite. Eventbrite is a website that allows fans to follow artists and purchase tickets to their shows when they become available. I think that this website will be something to consider in my original work because it is a place to easily buy and sell tickets. I learned a lot from this article, but specifically about the benefits of ticketed live stream concerts compared to free live stream shows. After reading this article, I think that it would be a good idea to charge fans for the show. I would make all of the proceeds for the tickets go towards donations or to the artists touring crew who has lost their jobs due to the pandemic. I also think that it would be a great opportunity to allow fans to purchase tickets for exclusive VIP events. By doing this, the artist will have a source of income as well as money that can go toward donations from general tickets. On the other hand, fans will be able to participate in exclusive events that they would not have the opportunity to do in person. I plan to begin working on my original work this week, so I think that this was a great way to begin thinking about what I would like to include.
