Weekly Report #18

In ISM this week, I worked on putting together my presentation for my original work speech. I also had another mentor visit, and I have been thinking about my final product. In my original work speech, I am planning to talk about the research I conducted during the first semester of this year. I then hope to talk about how I created my original work product and go over each step. I also plan to talk about how I conducted research that helped me complete my original work project. Then, I am planning to talk about some of my experiences with my mentor. I have learned a lot in the few visits I have been on, and I think that this information will help me when working on my final product. I hope to share some of this information in my speech as well. In my mentor visit this week, Ms. O’Neal and I talked about how covid is continuing to affect not only touring, but the music industry as a whole. An interesting point she made was that when an artist releases an album, they also release a tour. If they do not do this, people are likely to lose interest in the music and move on to something else. We talked about how this is affecting the release of music because many smaller artists do not want to release anything if they can not tour as well. Next week, I will present my original work speech and then go on another mentor visit with Ms. O’Neal. I am looking forward to completing my speech so that I can continue to work on focusing on my final product.
