This week in ISM, I worked on another research assessment. I decided to conduct this week's assessment over a different topic in the music industry. I have wanted to explore the various majors that are offered at Belmont, and I decided that this would be a great opportunity to do so. This week, I decided to research music law. I have always had an interest in law and music, so I thought it would be very interesting when the two are combined. I learned a lot about music law through my assessment this week. I learned that music law involves creating, selling, performing, and listening to music. Consumers and artists follow laws established by federal, local, and state governments. I was not previously aware that some music laws vary within the United States, but I thought that this was very interesting and something that I would like to learn more about. I enjoyed learning about music law, and it is something that I am definitely interested in pursuing next year. I also worked on a small part of my final product. I determined the artist that I will be using for my show, when the show will be announced, when tickets will go on sale, and when the concert will be. I am very excited to continue to work on my final product, and I hope to continue to research different parts of the music industry as well.
