In ISM this week, I had another mentor visit. I also caught up on some work that I had fallen behind on due to the power outages we had last week. The school was still closed this week, so we had classes virtually. In my mentor visit this week, Shelby and I continued talking about Taylor Swift’s re-recorded music because her first single came out. We talked about how the song did not chart as well as it was expected to, and this was surprising. We also talked about what Shelby is doing at American Airlines Center for their 20th anniversary later this year. I told her that I had seen that Billy Bobs is doing something for their 40th anniversary in May, so we also talked about what other venues have done in the past for their anniversaries. Shelby also told me to watch the Britney Spears documentary which is about her experiences as a celebrity and about her legal conservatorship. I watched this documentary later that day, and I thought it was very interesting. The documentary went into detail about how the paparazzi affected Britney Spears’ career, and I thought that it was a very interesting aspect of the documentary. It also talked about her conservatorship which gave her father legal control over her income, finances, and her personal decisions. I thought that this was a very interesting and eye opening documentary, and I will definitely continue to stay up to date on the legal process that she is having to go through. Although we did not have classes in person this week, I think that I learned a lot through my mentor visit and watching this documentary, I am looking forward to going back to class next week and to continue working on my final product by beginning to create social media posts.
