Last week, I went on a mentor visit with Shelby where we talked about several things. One of the main points that we talked about was the new album that Kings of Leon is releasing. They are releasing a new album where they also allow the purchase of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), which are a new type of cryptocurrency. This allows fans to purchase a one of a kind album collectible which contains a unique album cover, and once the sale is over, it will never be available for purchase again. They are also allowing fans to bid on six golden tickets that guarantee the person who purchased them four front row tickets to a show from each Kings of Leon tour for all of their headlining tours in the future. When we began to talk about this, it was a very confusing concept to understand because it is so new to the industry. Several other artists have started selling NFTs as well, and many articles that I have read have predicted it to be a very popular thing in the future of the music industry. I continued to research this in order to figure out exactly what an NFT is throughout spring break. During our mentor visit, Shelby and I also talked about my final product and the social media posts that I created in order to announce the show. This week was spring break, so I did not work on much for ISM. Next week, I am planning to work on the giveaway for my final product.
