Weekly Report #25

In ISM this week, Shelby and I had another mentor visit. For our visit this week, we talked a lot about the Grammys. The award show was set up differently this year where artists who were performing were all in one room together. Then, when the awards were being announced, all artists nominated for the award were sitting at their own tables outside of the Staples Center. The Grammys were done differently this year in order to put Covid restrictions in place. When Shelby and I talked about this, we both decided that this was a much more effective and fun way for the award show to be done. I enjoyed being able to watch each artist perform for a select few of other artists who would perform around the same time in the show. It made the show feel a lot more personal and fun because everybody was gathered together to celebrate music, and most of the artists were very supportive of each other which was also very fun to watch. We also continued our conversation about NFTs and tried to determine how they were beneficial to the music industry. This is something that neither of us can quite understand, but I hope to continue learning about its importance to the industry. Next week, I am planning to continue to work on my final product. Final Presentation Night is also coming up fairly soon, so I hope to work on invitations and a program to be printed prior to Final Presentation Night as well.
