Weekly Report #3

In ISM this week, I had the opportunity to research how the concert industry has been changing due to the Coronavirus pandemic. I found my research to be very interesting because it opened my eyes to how many people have been losing their jobs in the industry. Through my research I also learned that it will be difficult to get back into the industry quickly, especially for independent concert promoters. I completed my third research assessment where I interpreted how the pandemic is effecting large companies in the industry such as AEG and Live Nation in comparison to independent promoters. I learned that these larger companies will have a much easier time getting up and running again because they have much more financial stability than most independent promoters do. I also completed my final draft of my résumé. I fixed some small mistakes on my rough draft and added bullet points to make it look more organized. I think that my résumé will be helpful to present to professionals and to use in ISM in the future. Next week I hope to begin creating a list with professionals that I can contact and interview within the next few weeks. I look forward to learning more about concert promotion and beginning to connect with people who have experience in the live music industry.
