Weekly Report #4

In ISM this week I had the opportunity to begin connecting with professionals in order to start conducting informational interviews. I had a difficult time trying to figure out where to start looking for contacts at the beginning of this week, but I began researching local concert venues on LinkedIn where I was able to find a couple names of professionals who I was able to connect with. I also spoke with a family friend who works in the music industry who was able to send me the names of professionals that I have the opportunity to speak with as well. I set up 2 interviews for this week, one on Tuesday September 29th and the other on Friday October 2nd. Through my interviews I hope to learn how the professionals I am going to speak with got started in the industry, and I hope that I will be able to learn more about what exactly they do each day. Both professionals are currently working from home due to the pandemic, so I also hope that I will be able to learn what they are doing and how their job duties have changed. I am looking forward to my scheduled interviews for this upcoming week and I hope to continue to connect and speak with other professionals in order to expand my knowledge within the live music industry and about concert promotion more specifically.
